At Jobskin, we are committed to carrying out and supporting research into compression garments. In a collaboration with Lipoedema UK and a student at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, Jobskin are currently involved with a research project testing various fabrics that will be used in compression garments to mollify the symptoms of lipoedema. And we need YOUR help!

Lipoedema is a chronic condition that causes fat cells to build up to anomalous levels in the legs, buttocks and occasionally the arms. Though some men are affected, lipoedema mostly occurs in females and often develops during periods of hormonal change, such as puberty, pregnancy and the menopause. The cause of the condition is currently unknown but is often noticed in people who are overweight.

Ilka Paling is a student of Fashion Technology and has designed an in-depth questionnaire which you are invited to complete. The survey questions can be answered online and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. As an incentive to take part, Jobskin will enter all respondents into a prize draw, giving you the chance to win any compression garment of your choice.

No personally-identifiable information will be collected in the survey, the results of which are scheduled to be published in March next year. The survey is now open and will remain so until the 31st of October.
