Fabric Cutter - Long Eaton

We are looking for an experienced Fabric Cutter to join our established team. You will be joining an experienced team with a wealth of knowledge in manufacturing bespoke made to measure Lycra® garments.

  • You are an experienced fabric cutter, working with hand held cutting tools, scalpels and scissors
  • Your role will involve the cutting of high quality soft fabrics
  • You will perform initial checks against order details and requirements and ensure all relevant information is included with the order
  • Use order details to determine correct fabric to use
  • Use paper patterns to cut out all elements of the requested garment
  • Present the cut pieces of the garment in such a way to enable the machinists to determine the correct make up of the garment
  • Ensure that all necessary 'marks' and 'notches' are included on cut pieces
  • Liaise with the cutting team leader regarding any queries
  • Maintain a steady work flow to the machining department to ensure maximum capacity is upheld
  • Checking products against templates and being efficient with fabrics used
  • You will show a high level of accuracy ensuring that all quality standards are met
  • You will assist with any other tasks as required
  • You will be required to follow all health and safety procedures



  • Previous experience as a fabric cutter is essential
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment 
  • Must be comfortable working independently but also as part of a team
  • Good levels of numeracy and literacy
  • Good verbal communication
  • Organised with good housekeeping skills
  • Multiskilled
  • Eye for detail
  • Friendly

Salary for this role is dependent on age and experience 


Hours of work:
0730hrs to 1630hrs Monday to Thursday
0730hrs to 1230hrs Friday
